Murder Mysteries
Over the years, Saltford Drama Club have produced a number of Murder Mysteries, most of them put on at Saltford Hall. On a few occasions, we have ‘gone on the road’ and presented them at The Industrial Museum in Bath for instance. Well, this year saw us go International - well, we went south - to Cranmore, near Shepton Mallet ( I am the editor, so I’m allowed some poetic license!!). We had been asked to perform Murder Mysteries over the summer on the East Somerset Railway. The plays are acted out on a moving train whilst people have an excellent three course meal, taking in the clues presented by the members of the cast during the evening. Our 1st production in July saw us giving our all to an appreciative audience and we are putting on another Murder Mystery in September at the same location.
Murder Mysteries are a fantastic way for new members to have a go at acting and be involved in a fun experience. This time, we had new members Carol Thompson and Tracy Reid joining us and they both loved their roles, even though Carol got ‘bumped off’ early as Polly.
If you know of any organisation that want us to stage a Murder Mystery we are available for hire at very reasonable rates and can put on a number of plays in various locations. We generally put on two major productions each year in April and November at Saltford Hall, so our Spring and Summer diary is virtually free for Murder Mysteries. Come on, let us put on a play for you at your fund raising or celebratory event!!
